...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM AKST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations up to 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. Visibility reductions down to 1/4 mile will be possible in blowing snow. * WHERE...Seward Peninsula, Bering Strait region, Kobuk Valley, and Kotzebue Sound. * WHEN...Until 11 AM AKST Friday. * IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
