24-25.01.2026 at night and in the morning in the central and east regions of Latvia heavy frost is expected - air temperature will decrease to -20...-23º. BE AWARE of intensive frost! During intensive frost, there is a risk of health problems for certain population groups, such as the elderly and infants, also the homeless. To avoid body cooling and frostbite, provide yourself with clothing suitable for the frost, and avoid inactivity when you are outside! There is a risk of disruption of certain infrastructure elements and traffic. Motor vehicles may be inoperable, insufficiently insulated water pipes may burst, and there is a higher risk of fire accidents due to the increased usage of heating systems. Due to the frost, it may be necessary to change or cancel planned activities and works if they are planned outside heated premises! Students under the age of 12 may not attend school.
