In many places in the eastern part of the country, the water level in the rivers is still high, and the lowest places are flooded. The water level will continue to rise in the coming days due to precipitation, and the lowest places will still be flooded or will flood again. The water level in the largest rivers and lakes will be elevated for a long time.  BE AWARE of the potentially flood-prone areas!  The environment is already overly humid, water is accumulating in the fields and in the lower depressions,  low-lying areas on the banks of water bodies are flooded. Caution should be exercised when moving in flood-prone areas.

Residents are asked not to visit or move in flood-prone areas, not to endanger themselves and not to hinder the rescue services.
On the coastline of the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Riga, strong winds together with high waves can cause coastal areas and associated low-lying areas near rivers and lakes to flood, as well as damage dune and coastal infrastructure such as dams or ports.
