23.07.2025. in the next 1-3 hours in Latvia very intensive rainshowers are expected. In some areas with thunderstorm and squalls, hail possible.  BE PREPARED for very heavy rain!
As a result of very high amount of rainfall, the soil will become wet and unable to absorb water, rainwater drainage systems will be overloaded and may overflow. River floodplains and low-lying areas are expected to flood, in some places also causing property and infrastructure flooding, road washouts and infrastructure damage. Flooded areas are likely to require evacuation. Follow and act according to the instructions given by the responsible authorities!
Dangerous driving conditions on the road due to reduced visibility and aquaplaning. Consider that you need to plan a longer time for trips and/or an alternative route.
There is a risk that power supply, water supply and communications will be disrupted.
Due to high humidity and flooding, crops and plantations will be damaged.
Residents are asked not to visit or move in flood-prone areas, not to endanger themselves and not to hinder the rescue services.
Take care of the rainwater sewerage and drainage systems in a timely manner, maintain them in a functional order so that they drain rainwater as efficiently as possible.

The environment is already overly humid, water is accumulating in the fields and in the lower depressions,  low-lying areas on the banks of water bodies are flooded.
