There has already been a lot of precipitation in May, the water level in the rivers has risen. The soil has already become overmoistened, water has accumulated in many low-lying areas. In the coming days, the most intense precipitation is expected in the river basins of the central and eastern parts: it will rain frequently, at times intensely. River runoff will continue to increase, and the water level in the rivers of the Lielupe and Daugava basins will continue, which will cause flooding of the lowest areas.
 BE AWARE of the potentially flood-prone areas!
Caution should be exercised when moving in flood-prone areas.
On the coastline of the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Riga, strong winds together with high waves can cause a significant rise in the water level.
