15.-16.07.2025 at night locally in the east part of Latvia thunderstorm with intensive rainshowers is expected. Hail and wind gusts are also possible.  BE AWARE of heavy thunderstorms!
If possible, seek shelter indoors, outdoor activities will be disrupted.
Be careful in places that are especially exposed to the impact of thunderstorms, for example, in forests, open areas.

In the river basins of eastern Latvia, the soil has been significantly wetter than normal for an extended period, so the additional rainfall will lead to a more pronounced rise in river levels. As a result, floodplains and fields are likely to be more extensively flooded. Water levels are also expected to rise in central Latvia due to the heavy rainfall. BE AWARE of the potentially flood-prone areas!  The environment is already overly humid, water is accumulating in the fields and in the lower depressions,  low-lying areas on the banks of water bodies are flooded. Caution should be exercised when moving in flood-prone areas.
