Severe Warning for Snow or Ice
Issued: 3:18 PM Feb. 12, 2026 – EUMETNET - MeteoAlarm
13.02.2026 in the second part of the night a vast precipitation zone will begin to move across Latvia, from the morning in many places heavy and continuous snow is expected, during the day snow cover will increase by 10-14 cm. With increased wind blizzard is expected, in the south-east part of the country also freezing rain possible.  BE PREPARED for very heavy snowfall!
Transport movement on roads and railways, as well as air traffic, will be disrupted in large areas. Pedestrian movement and other outdoor activities will also be very difficult.
Snowfall and blizzard will cause snowdrifts to form in large areas.
Visibility will be significantly reduced during snowfall and blizzard conditions.
Snowfall and wet snow deposits will cause tree branches to break and damage power lines.
When moving on the roads, be very careful, note that road travel will take additional time.
Evaluate the need to go outside, especially during rush hours.
