In the first days of March, snow and ice will continue to melt in the western and central regions of Latvia, river runoff will increase. The water level will rise and river floodplains and lowlands will gradually begin to flood. Ice will begin to move and flow in the rivers, and ice jams will form in places. BE AWARE of the potentially flood-prone areas!  The environment is already overly humid, water is accumulating in the fields and in the lower depressions,  low-lying areas on the banks of water bodies are flooded. Caution should be exercised when moving in flood-prone areas.
