For the Freeze Watch, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 possible. * WHERE...St. Charles, St. John The Baptist, Upper Lafourche, and Upper Terrebonne Parishes. * WHEN...For the Extreme Cold Warning, until 10 AM CST this morning. For the Freeze Watch, from late tonight through Monday morning. * IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes. Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
