...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM AKST WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Snow and blowing snow. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches with up to 6 inches above 1500 feet elevation. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. Visibility reduced to as low as one half or one quarter mile at times. * WHERE...Baldwin Peninsula, Kivalina, Lower Kobuk Valley, Noatak Valley, South Slopes of the Western Brooks Range, and Upper Kobuk Valleys. * WHEN...Until 9 AM AKST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Additional Details: Another storm system will approach the west coast of Alaska. Snow and gusty winds are expected to develop beginning early Tuesday morning and continue through Wednesday morning before slowly tapering off. For Kotzebue, elevated water levels are possible along the coast Tuesday night through Wednesday morning as winds shift to the northwest. Surge, combined with these winds, will likely push water through cracks in the ice and along the coast. Water levels will subside by Wednesday afternoon. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
