* WHAT...For the Hazardous Seas Warning, very steep and hazardous
seas 15 to 20 ft at 15 seconds and west winds 15 to 25 kt. For
the Small Craft Advisory, rough bar conditions expected. Seas 9
to 13 ft at 14 seconds and south winds 10 to 20 kt expected.

* WHERE...In the Main Channel of the Columbia River Bar.

* WHEN...Hazardous Seas Warning, until 10 PM PST this evening.
Small Craft Advisory, from 10 PM this evening to 4 PM PST
Friday.

* IMPACTS...Very steep and hazardous seas could capsize or cause
damage to vessels.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Ebb current of 4.1 kt at 816 AM Thursday.
Seas 17 to 19 ft. Ebb current of 4.23 kt at 815 PM Thursday.

imminent or occurring. Recreational boaters should remain in

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM PST THIS
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Large waves and hazardous surf conditions. Breakers up to
25 feet.

* WHERE...North and Central Coast of Oregon, and South
Washington Coast.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM PST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Destructive waves may wash over beaches, jetties, and
other structures unexpectedly. People can be swept off rocks and
jetties and drown while observing high surf. Minor beach erosion
may damage coastal properties and buildings. Higher than normal
water run-up is expected on beaches and low-lying shoreline.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The largest waves are expected to occur
through 10 AM Thursday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches,
producing rip currents, sneaker waves and beach erosion. Stay
well back from the water's edge and be alert for exceptionally
high waves.

Keep away from large logs on the beach. Water running up on the
beach can easily lift or roll logs which can injure or kill
someone caught in their path.
