...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM CDT MONDAY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of south central Kansas, including the following counties, Harper, Kingman and Sumner. * WHEN...Until 800 AM CDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1158 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Anthony, Harper, Caldwell, Argonia, Bluff City, Danville, Freeport, Runnymede, Crystal Springs and Rago. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. &&

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 367 IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM CDT MONDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN KANSAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 4 COUNTIES IN SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS COWLEY HARPER KINGMAN SUMNER THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ANTHONY, ARKANSAS CITY, ATTICA, HARPER, KINGMAN, WELLINGTON, AND WINFIELD.
