...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON AKST THURSDAY... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 50 below expected. * WHERE...Lower Kuskokwim Valley. * WHEN...Until noon AKST Thursday. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 50 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed to these temperatures. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wind chills will be coldest during the nighttime hours. Daytime wind chills may rise to the -30s due to diurnal swings in temperatures. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while traveling outside.
