* Until 445 PM CDT.

* At 140 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain in Numerous roads across northwest Iberia
Parish and northeast Vermilion Parish. . Between 2 and 5 inches of
rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
New Iberia, Abbeville, St. Martinville, Kaplan, Avery Island,
Broussard, Youngsville, Erath, Delcambre, Loreauville, Coteau,
Acadiana Regional Airport, Cade, Jefferson Island, Lydia, Lake
Fausse Pointe and Meaux.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* At 1143 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts
of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding
is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
