...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 8 AM EDT MONDAY... * WHAT...South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected. * WHERE...Northern Erie and Southern Erie Counties. * WHEN...From 2 PM this afternoon to 8 AM EDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds will ramp up today with gusts to 50 mph during the daytime hours. Winds will peak tonight when gusts to 60 mph are likely. Winds shift southwest and continue gusting over 40 MPH on Monday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... For the Gale Watch, west winds 30 to 35 knots with gusts up to 50 knots and waves 6 to 11 feet possible. * WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Erie from Vermilion OH to Ripley NY. * WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 8 AM EDT Monday. For the Gale Watch, from Monday morning through Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
