This indicates that local ice is more resistant to breakup. As the front progresses towards Galena residents should be prepared for the possibility of an ice jam downstream of Galena including near Bishop Rock. - Http://www.weather.gov/aprfc PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Impounding water due to the ice jam may cause rapid river rises upstream. Properties along River Road in Ruby may be affected.
