Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches. * WHERE...City and Borough of Sitka. * WHEN...Until 6 AM AKST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Periods of moderate precipitation have been causing snow-melt cooling, which has allowed snow to fall in the Sitka area even though temps are well above freezing. Snowfall rates will vary substantially as the main forecast challenge remains moisture availability. Lighter snowfall rates and warming temperatures would also limit snowfall totals. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. People are urged to prepare their property before the onset of winter weather.
