...Hot Temperatures continue across the Interior this weekend...

Friday afternoon into Sunday, the majority of the Central and
Eastern Interior will see highs near/above 80F. Take caution while
participating in outdoor activities planned for the
solstice/holiday weekend. Stay hydrated and limit strenuous
outdoor activities in the afternoon when temperatures are the
highest.

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM SATURDAY TO 10 PM AKDT
SUNDAY FOR LIGHTNING...

The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Red Flag
Warning for lightning, which is in effect from 10 AM Saturday to
10 PM AKDT Sunday.

* AFFECTED AREA...Central Interior.

* TIMING...From 10 AM Saturday to 10 PM AKDT Sunday.

* THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE INDEX...Scattered.

* WINDS...Near thunderstorms, gusts could reach as high as 40
mph.

* HUMIDITY...As low as 30 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...Highs in the mid 80s. Lows around 50.

* IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected this
weekend due to a combination of thunderstorm activity,
temperatures reaching into the low 80s, relative humidities
near 30 percent, and gusty winds.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that conditions are occurring or will
occur which could lead to the development of large and dangerous
fires. It is directed toward fire agencies, and through them, to
the public.
