...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY EVENING... ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS CANCELLED... * WHAT...Winter Storm Watch remains in effect for the Kuskokwim Delta for tonight. Blizzard conditions possible. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...Kuskokwim Delta. * WHEN...From late tonight through Monday evening. * IMPACTS...Visibilities reduced to one half mile or less due to blowing snow; whiteout conditions are possible tonight through Monday evening. Travel could be very difficult. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A strong storm will move into the Kuskokwim Region tonight, bringing moderate to heavy snowfall, paired with gusty SE winds for periods of whiteout conditions; this storm will begin to weaken by Monday evening. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Winter Storm Watch for blizzard conditions means there is a potential for falling and/or blowing snow with strong winds and extremely poor visibilities. This can lead to whiteout conditions and make travel very hazardous. Prepare for possible blizzard conditions. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation. Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, use extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as a flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.
