...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following
counties, Austin and Colorado.

* WHEN...Until 930 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 627 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Heavy rainfall
occurred in this area earlier this afternoon leading to
quicker transition to runoff. Minor flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and
4 inches of rain have fallen earlier this afternoon in
addition to the rain currently falling.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Weimar, Industry, Frelsburg and New Ulm.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following
counties, Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Colorado, Grimes, Madison and
Washington.

* WHEN...Through Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Slow moving, training showers and thunderstorms are expected
to develop somewhere within the watch area this afternoon and
continue into this evening or overnight tonight. Generally
expecting totals of 1 to 3 inches, but isolated higher
amounts of 3 to 6 inches will be possible if strong
thunderstorms move over the same area. Rainfall rates of 2-4"
per hour will be possible within the strongest storms.
