A storm force low continues to move towards the gulf of Alaska.
Winds will increase to 40 to 50 knots overnight Tuesday along our
coast, moving north through Wednesday. For the inner channels gale
force winds of 35 to 45 knots are expected, with southerly gale
force winds moving north through the inner channels overnight
Tuesday through Wednesday. Significant wave heights will peak near
35 ft for the outside waters and up to around 8 ft for the Inside
Waters. Expect higher seas of 11 to 20 ft near ocean entrances
exposed to the south, like Sumner Strait and Chatham Strait.

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 1 PM
AKDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Southeast winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 60 mph
expected.

* WHERE...Prince of Wales Island and Annette Island.

* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 1 PM AKDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...High winds will blow around unsecured objects and
may damage property and cause power outages. Travel will be
difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...As a storm force low moves north toward the
panhandle, wind will increase in the gulf and for land areas
near and along the eastern gulf coast. For far southern areas,
the strongest winds are expected this evening into tonight.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People are urged to secure vessels and loose objects that could
be blown around or damaged by the wind.
