...EXTREME VESSEL ICING POSSIBLE FROM EAST OF SAINT MATTHEW ISLAND TO BRISTOL BAY THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON... Northeasterly winds in combination with frigid Arctic air will likely lead to extreme vessel icing at rates of 4 cm per hour or greater. Extreme freezing spray is likely from east of Saint Matthew Island to Cape Newenham. Extreme freezing spray is possible further south in Bristol Bay. Winds diminish on Monday, which should cause icing rates to decrease by Monday afternoon. Operating a vessel in heavy to extreme freezing spray is hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components inoperable. Rapid ice accretion on decks and superstructures may result in catastrophic loss of stability.
