...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Ohio, including the following
counties, Athens, Gallia, Jackson, Meigs, Vinton and Washington
and western West Virginia, including the following county, Mason.

* WHEN...Until 530 PM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of creeks, small rivers, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations continues into the afternoon. This
includes the Shade River near Chester which is currently in minor
flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 636 AM EST, Doppler radar and gauges indicated another
round of heavy rain moving across the warned area. Flooding
is already occurring in the warned area. Between 1 and 3
inches of rain have fallen. The Shade River near Chester
remains in minor flood stage and holding steady. The current
stage is just under 19 feet, which results in flooding
impacts to low sections of Scout Camp Road and Sugar Creek
Bridge. Additional minor flooding is likely along the river
and throughout the warned area.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
the warned area. Locally higher amounts are possible in
heavier showers.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Athens, Jackson, Wellston, Pomeroy, Mcarthur, Albany, Racine,
Coolville, Rutland, Lake Hope State Park, Forked Run State
Park, New Haven, Mason, Tuppers Plains, Middleport, Chester,
Hamden, Syracuse, Hartford City and Coalton.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll
free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.

...AREAS OF DENSE FOG THIS MORNING...

Areas of fog have formed across portions of the area after recent
rainfall and some clearing of skies, with dense fog possible in
some locations. Fog is expected to gradually dissipate later this
morning across the area.

Visibility will be restricted in any areas of fog and could be as
low as a half mile or less in spots. Exercise caution traveling
this morning. Please slow down and leave extra room between other
vehicles.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Ohio, including the following
counties, Athens, Morgan, Perry and Washington and northern West
Virginia, including the following counties, Pleasants and Wood.

* WHEN...Until 400 PM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 552 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated another round of heavy
rain. Flooding is ongoing in the warned area. Between 0.5 and
1.2 inches of rain has fallen. Duck Creek at Macksburg has
reached minor flood stage at 13 feet and rising. At 13 feet,
Main street near the creek floods and agricultural fields
adjacent to the creek also flood. Additional rises are
expected through the morning with other small streams likely
flooding across the area as well.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Parkersburg, Marietta, Belpre, Nelsonville, St. Marys,
Glouster, McConnelsville, Beverly, Shawnee, Chesterhill,
Vienna, Williamstown, Belmont, Boaz, Newport, Chauncey,
Matamoras, New Straitsville, Malta and Corning.

and Washington and West Virginia, including the following
counties, Doddridge, Jackson WV, Mason, Pleasants, Ritchie, Tyler,
Wirt and Wood.

* WHEN...Until 1 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Moderate to heavy rainfall from Tuesday night and Wednesday
has left soils vulnerable to significant runoff with any
additional rainfall picked up today.
