For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills between 5 and 10 above expected. * WHERE...Portions of central, south central, southwest, and west central Louisiana and southeast Texas. * WHEN...For the Cold Weather Advisory, until noon CST Sunday. For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 6 PM Sunday to 11 AM CST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
