...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR VERY LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES AND CRITICALLY DRY FUELS FOR PORTIONS OF THE COASTAL PLAINS AND BRUSH COUNTRY... * AFFECTED AREA...La Salle, McMullen, Live Oak, Bee, Webb, Duval and Jim Wells. * TIMING...From 11 AM this morning until 10 PM this evening. * WINDS...South 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 13 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Up to 90. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. Residents are urged to exercise care with respect to all outdoor activities that could inadvertently cause wildfires.
