...STRONG WINDS, ROUGH SEAS, AND MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN ALONG THE KUSKOKWIM DELTA COAST AND WESTERN CAPES TODAY INTO THURSDAY... A strong Bering Sea system will bring widespread moderate to heavy rain at times along with gusty winds and rough seas for the coastal waters of the Kuskokwim Delta and the Western Capes today and into Thursday. -Winds: Southerly to southwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Occasional gusts up to 50 mph are also likely. Winds slowly diminish through Thursday. -Wave Heights: 5 to 6 ft waves this morning build to 8 to 14 ft this afternoon. The higher end totals are more likely farther from the coast. Wave heights slowly subside beginning Thursday morning. -Rainfall amounts: Expect moderate to heavy rain at times (about 0.50 to 1.00 inches storm total), with the highest amounts near Platinum, Quinhagak, and along the Northern Kuskokwim Bay Coast. Steady rain tapers to showers beginning this afternoon and evening.
