...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING... ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS CANCELLED... * WHAT...Blowing snow, high winds, and very cold wind chills as low as 65 below zero possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. Blowing snow could reduce visibility to one half mile or less at times. * WHERE...Central Interior, Dalton Highway Summits, Northern Denali Borough, White Mountains and High Terrain South of the Yukon River, and Yukon Flats. * WHEN...From Friday evening through Monday evening. * IMPACTS...Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Travel could be very difficult. Very cold wind chills as cold as 65 below could cause frostbite in as little as 5 minutes. Additional Details: - The coldest wind chills will be over Eagle Summit on Saturday. - The strongest winds will be over Elliott and Dalton Highway Summits on Saturday night. - This will be a prolonged period of very cold conditions.
