A storm force low continues to move towards the gulf of Alaska. Winds will increase to 40 to 50 knots overnight Tuesday along our coast, moving north through Wednesday. For the inner channels gale force winds of 35 to 45 knots are expected, with southerly gale force winds moving north through the inner channels overnight Tuesday through Wednesday. Significant wave heights will peak near 35 ft for the outside waters and up to around 8 ft for the Inside Waters. Expect higher seas of 11 to 20 ft near ocean entrances exposed to the south, like Sumner Strait and Chatham Strait. Stay tuned to www.weather.gov/juneau or the NOAA Weather Radio for updates.
