...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM AKST THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Southeast winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 to 70 mph expected. * WHERE...Annette Island. * WHEN...Until 9 AM AKST this morning. * IMPACTS...High winds will blow around unsecured objects and may damage property and cause power outages. Wet soils and high winds will bring trees down. Travel will be difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High confidence in wind gusts of up to 60- 70 mph. Wind gusts will be significantly higher at areas of elevation. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... People are urged to secure vessels and loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM AKST SUNDAY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...The following areas, Prince of Wales, Southern Inner Channels and Central Inner Channels. This includes the cities of Petersburg, Craig, Klawock, Hydaburg, Coffman Cove, Thorne Bay, Wrangell, Ketchikan, And Metlakatla. * WHEN...Until 9 AM AKST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, other low-lying areas and flood-prone locations. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - This watch is in effect due to forecasted 3 hour rainfall rates exceeding 0.75 inches per hour Saturday night and storm total rainfall near 8 inches for the mountains/higher terrain by Sunday night. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Isolated landslides are possible in areas of steep terrain.
