...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CHST THURSDAY... * WHAT...East winds 15 to 20 kt with frequent gusts up to 25 kt and seas 8 to 10 feet. * WHERE...Marianas Coastal Waters. * WHEN...Until 6 AM ChST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A large northerly swell continues to impact the region, with winds increasing as a trade-wind surge builds across eastern Micronesia and towards the Marianas. Seas are expected to remain around 10 feet today, with winds hovering close to the 22 kt threshold. Winds and seas are expected to steadily decrease tonight as the trade-wind surge and northerly swell diminish.. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid boating in hazardous conditions. &&

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CHST THURSDAY... ...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Large breaking waves of 9 to 11 feet and dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...For the High Surf Advisory, west and north facing reefs of the Marianas. For the High Rip Current Risk, west, north, and east facing reefs. * WHEN...Until 6 PM ChST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The northerly swell that has brought hazardous surf to north and west facing reefs will continue until Thursday evening. A high risk for rip currents is now in place for east facing reefs due to the primary swell shifting towards the northeast. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Rip currents will be life threatening. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. Rip currents will be life threatening. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. &&
