* WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Warning, significant coastal flooding,
up to 10 feet for Tinian and Saipan; 6 feet for Rota, and up to 4
feet for Guam. For the High Surf Warning, dangerously large
breaking waves of 11 to 16 feet for Guam, 15 to 20 feet for Rota,
and 20 to 30 feet for Tinian and Saipan.

* WHERE...North, east, south, and west facing reefs of Tinian and
Saipan. South, west, and north facing reefs of Guam and Rota.

* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Warning, until 5 AM ChST Thursday.
For the High Surf Warning, until 6 PM ChST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Numerous roads may be closed. Low lying property
including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure will
be inundated. Some shoreline erosion will occur. Breaking waves can
sweep people off jetties and docks, and into dangerous seas. Life-
threatening swimming conditions and significant beach erosion can
be expected.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...As TY Sinlaku moves away and wind driven waves
decrease, the primary swell and highest surf will shift toward the
northwest. The Coastal Flood Warning may need to be extended for
Tinian and Saipan if Sinlaku slows down a bit.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Everyone should remain out of the water due to life-threatening
surf conditions. Stay off of jetties, piers, and other waterside

People should remain in a designated shelter or in a sturdy and
reinforced concrete building. Strong tropical storm force winds are
still near the island to the north, but will start to slowly
decrease later this morning. Due to the size and slow movement of
the storm, tropical storm force winds will be slow to subside,
potentially beginning to fall below damaging levels late tonight
according to the latest forecast from the Joint Typhoon Warning
Center. Even when winds start to decrease, remain indoors until
the government of Guam gives the "all clear".

As Typhoon Sinlaku (04W) continues to move north-northwest and;
away from Guam, west tropical storm force winds around 40 to 50;
mph and gusts up 70 mph will continue through the morning hours.;
Then, winds are forecasted to slowly subside today as winds shift;
to the southwest, subsiding below 39 mph late tonight or early;
Thursday morning.;

Dangerous surf of 13 to 18 feet are occurring across south, west,;
and north facing reefs of Guam, driven by the westerly winds.;
While surf is expected to slowly subside along east facing reefs,;
surf is likely still hazardous at around 10 to 13 feet. Greatest;
coastal flooding will likely be along west facing shores and;
beaches due to the wind driven waves, with 1 to 3 ft still;
expected, so the Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect. Inland;
flooding made worse by heavier rain bands following storm passage;
will significantly increase coastal inundation as rain run-off and;
storm surge interact. Surf will be slow to decrease in the second;
half of the week after Sinlaku's exit to the north-northwest, and;
swell from Sinlaku continues to pummel northern and western;
Marianas shores.;

Heavy rainfall is still possible as quick-moving rainbands rotate;
across Guam south of Sinlaku. Additional rainfall of 4 to 8;

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Guam, Rota, Saipan and Tinian.

* WHEN...Through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Typhoon Sinlaku is starting to move away from Tinian and
Saipan to the northwest. rain bands south of Sinlaku will
continue to bring periods of heavy rain across the islands.

- Based on microwave satellite estimates and model guidance,
additional rainfall of 10 to 18 inches is possible for Tinian
and Saipan. For Guam and Rota, 5 to 10 inches of additional
rainfall is possible over the next 24 hours.

Airport Weather Warning
Issued: 10:11 AM Apr. 12, 2026 – National Weather Service
An Airport Wind Advisory is in effect for the Guam International
Airport. The onset of tropical storm force conditions are expected
within 24 hours and this advisory will remain in effect until further
notice. Expect winds from the NNE or 20 degrees at 15 to 25 knots
with gusts to 35 knots and will continue to increase and shift
northwest as Super Typhoon Sinlaku approaches the Marianas. Tropical
storm conditions are expected Monday night through Wednesday, with
typhoon conditions possible. For specific wind information and
