...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM CHST MONDAY... * WHAT...Seas 9 to 12 feet. * WHERE...Marianas Coastal Waters. * WHEN...Until 5 AM ChST Monday. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Building northerly swell will continue to produce hazardous seas of 9 to 12 feet, briefly reaching up to 14 feet tonight. Hazardous seas persist over the next few days, likely needing the advisory to be extended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid boating in hazardous conditions. &&

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM CHST MONDAY... ...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Large breaking waves of 9 to 12 feet, up to 14 feet along north facing reefs. Dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...North and east facing reefs of the Marianas. * WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, until 4 PM ChST Monday. For the High Rip Current Risk, through Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong winds around a strong low pressure system near Japan and a Kona Low that is northwest of Hawai'i have been producing long-period NNW and NE swells to the region. Hazardous surf and a high risk of rip currents are expected along north and east facing reefs. Surf is expected to build near 15 feet along north facing reefs, which may possibly warrant a High Surf Warning. As NNW swell builds over the coming days, it can potentially build to hazardous levels of 9 feet along west facing reefs, likely needing the advisory to be extended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Rip currents will be life threatening. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. Rip currents will be life threatening. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. &&
