...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TUESDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Guam, Rota, Saipan and Tinian. * WHEN...Through late Tuesday night. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and isolated thunderstorms from Super Typhoon Bavi continue across the Marianas. Observations across the Marianas indicate 8 to 15 inches of rain have already fallen with additional rainfall expected through Tuesday from Bavi's trailing rain bands. Remain alert and stay inside. Listen for possible Flood Warnings. && ...WIND INFORMATION...; Sustained, damaging southwest to south winds of 40 to 60 mph with; gusts to 90 mph will continue to decrease tonight, diminishing; below damaging levels sometime in the early morning hours Tuesday.; This afternoon, minor to moderate damage remains likely to many; metal roof homes, especially those that have canopies, awnings, or; carports. Poorly constructed homes may sustain minor wall damage; and partial roof removal. Other homes may have minor roof and; siding damage. Some loose outdoor items will be tossed around and; may cause additional damage. A few power lines may still be; knocked down resulting in scattered power outages. Some large; branches of healthy trees will be snapped. Most newly planted; trees and shrubs will be damaged or uprooted.; ...COASTAL INUNDATION AND SURF INFORMATION...; 6 to 8 feet of wind- and wave-driven run-up remain possible as; Super Typhoon Bavi pulls away. ...TYPHOON WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT... * WHAT...Typhoon Warning remains in effect through at least Tuesday night. * WHERE...Marianas Coastal Waters. * WHEN...Damaging winds expected through early Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...Sustained winds of near 50 to 70 kt with gusts to 100 kt and seas of 15 to 25 ft. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Typhoon conditions, including winds of 64 knots or more, are continuing as Super Typhoon Bavi (09W) exits the region to the WNW. With this, winds will gradually decrease across the Marianas, however, tropical storm force conditions are expected to continue overnight, departing sometime in the early morning hours. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Destructive winds are occurring today, especially in western Rota waters. All vessels should have been secured by now and shall not venture out. Conditions are expected to be catastrophic for small craft, and extremely dangerous for any vessels of larger size. &&

...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM CHST WEDNESDAY... ...HIGH SURF WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM CHST THURSDAY... * WHAT...Dangerously large breaking waves up to 20 feet in the surf zone with significant coastal flooding. * WHERE...Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan. * WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Warning, until 4 PM ChST Wednesday. For the High Surf Warning, until 4 PM ChST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Numerous roads may be closed. Low lying property including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure will be inundated. Significant shoreline erosion will occur. Waters will be deadly. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Dangerous surf is ongoing along all reefs today as Super Typhoon Bavi (09W) moves WNW away from the Marianas while still generating strong swells. Dangerous surf heights of up to 20 ft and coastal inundation of 6 to 8 ft can be expected. As Bavi exits to the west-northwest, coastal inundation and erosion is likely to increase along west- and south-facing shores while easing elsewhere. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Everyone should remain out of the water due to life-threatening surf conditions. Stay off of jetties, piers, and other waterside infrastructure. &&

Airport Weather Warning

An Airport Wind Advisory remains in effect for the Guam International Airport. Tropical storm force to typhoon force conditions will continue into late tonight. Southwest tropical storm to typhoon force will become south to southeasterly through the evening and into overnight hours. Thunderstorms within 20 nautical miles of the airport continue to be possible.
