Red Flag Warning
Issued: 6:17 AM May. 10, 2025 – National Weather Service
...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM CHST SUNDAY FOR
Guam...

* WIND...East wind 15 to 20 mph, especially over higher terrain.

* HUMIDITY...Down to 50 to 60 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended. Peak fire threat is in
the afternoon hours and higher terrain. Fire weather
conditions will ease after sunset due to decreasing winds and
higher humidity.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Terrain forcing of winds and occasional gusts
could make fire fighting drastically harder. Model guidance
suggests the winds will start to subside Sunday and will be below
the 20 mph threshold allowing the Red Flag Warning to expire. The
models also suggest a surface trough will pass over Guam Tuesday,
and would bring the winds back up over the 20 mph threshold, which
may need a new issuance of a Red Flag Warning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures will
create ideal conditions for rapid spread of wildfires.
