...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CHST THIS EVENING... ...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Large breaking waves of 7 to 10 feet and dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...For the High Surf Advisory, west and north facing reefs of the Marianas. For the High Rip Current Risk, west, north, and east facing reefs. * WHEN...Until 6 PM ChST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The northerly swell persists across the Marianas, along with the trade-wind swell. This will help keep surf hazardous along west and north facing reefs this morning while also keeping rip current risk high for east facing reefs. Surf and rip current risk are expected to fall below hazardous conditions tonight along all reefs. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Rip currents will be life threatening. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. Rip currents will be life threatening. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. &&
