Winter storm expected through Thursday night.

What:
Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 30 cm.
Reduced visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow.
Risk of freezing rain.

When:
Continuing through Thursday night.

Additional information:
Snow, at times heavy, may mix with ice pellets and freezing rain this evening. There may be a brief lull in the snow later this evening before redeveloping overnight, especially for areas along and south of Highway 17.

Northerly winds gusting 50 to 60 km/h will result in blowing snow beginning overnight into Thursday morning. Strong northerly winds combined with heavy snow may lead to near zero visibility at times.

At this time, the highest snowfall amounts are expected for areas north of Highway 17 where total accumulations may exceed 30 cm locally.

Conditions will improve beginning late Thursday afternoon near the Ontario-Manitoba border, and from west to east through Thursday night.

Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Road closures are possible.
