Seas and winds will remain hazardous to small craft operations through Tuesday afternoon, as Sinlaku continues to move away the region. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid boating in hazardous conditions. &&

...COASTAL FLOOD STATEMENT IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON... ...HIGH SURF ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM CHST TUESDAY... ...HIGH SURF WARNING IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT... ...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT... * WHAT...Large breaking waves of 10 to 14 feet, decreasing to 9 to 12 feet Tuesday. Isolated minor coastal flooding possible. * WHERE...South, west, and north facing reefs of Chuuk. * WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, until 5 PM ChST Tuesday. For the Coastal Flood Statement, through Tuesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Some water on low lying roads and property. Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Super Typhoon Sinlaku is about 440 miles northwest of Chuuk and continues to move away from the region. Significant west-southwest and northwesterly swells will continue to bring hazardous surf along south, west, and north facing reefs, with minor coastal inundation possible. Conditions will gradually improve as STY Sinlaku slowly moves northwest, possibly allowing surf to fall below hazardous levels of 9 feet Tuesday afternoon. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. &&
