...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches except between 4 and 7 inches for northern Bayfield County and between 3 and 8 inches for the higher terrain of the North Shore. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...In Minnesota, Koochiching, North Itasca, Central and North St. Louis, and Northern Cook and Lake Counties. In Wisconsin, Bayfield and Douglas Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Red Cliff Band and the Bois Forte Band, Lake Vermilion, Deer Creek and, Nett Lake areas. Other locations including the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and Voyageurs National Park. The entire Boundary Waters is also included. * WHEN...Until 1 PM CDT this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong winds paired with intense snowfall rates will lead to greatly reduced visibility.
