Rain, at times heavy and strong winds are expected. Locations: Avalon, Burin, and Bonavista Peninsulas, as well as Clarenville and vicinity, Terra Nova, and Connaigre. Total rainfall: 25 to 40 mm, with locally higher amounts possible. Peak wind gusts: southeasterly to northeasterly up to 80 km/h. Time span: Saturday. Remarks: A system approaching the Avalon Peninsula will bring a period of heavy rain and strong winds. Uncertainty remains as to where the highest totals will occur, with amounts likely to vary considerably due to the localized nature of the heavier precipitation.
