Orange Warning - Snow Squall

Dangerous snow squalls and blizzard conditions expected. What: Blizzard conditions. Total local snowfall amounts of 25 to 50 cm. When: Continuing into Tuesday afternoon. Additional information: In the wake of a sharp cold front, lake effect snow squalls off Lake Huron have developed. Widespread blowing snow and blizzard conditions will be the primary concern as northwesterly wind gusts of 70 to 90 km/h are expected tonight. ### Travel will likely be extremely hazardous and some routes will likely be impassable. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Road closures are likely. Prolonged, widespread utility outages are likely. Strong winds expected today. What: Strong southwesterly and northwesterly wind gusts near 90 km/h. When: Today and tonight. Easing Tuesday morning. Additional information. Strong northwesterly winds will ease tonight but gusts up to 70 km/h are still likely through Tuesday morning. Areas with significant ice build-up from freezing rain will be most vulnerable. ### Local utility outages are possible. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible.
