Yellow Warning - Snowfall
Issued: 6:33 PM Apr. 4, 2026 – Environment and Climate Change Canada
Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 20 cm is expected. Locations: western, central, and northeastern Newfoundland. Time span: Sunday afternoon or evening until overnight Sunday night or early Monday morning. Remarks: Snow, at times heavy, will spread west to east across Newfoundland Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening then transition through ice pellets and freezing rain to rain or rain showers overnight or early Monday morning as temperatures rise. Rainfall amounts will be negligible with this system. Strong southeasterly winds will develop Sunday night causing a period of blowing snow with poor visibilities before the snow begins its transition. Consider adjusting travel plans to avoid the most adverse conditions. ### Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Snowfall warnings are issued when significant impacts are expected due to snowfall accumulations. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
