Freezing rain is expected over some areas.

Locations: western Prince Edward Island.

Freezing rain duration: 4 to 8 hours.

Time span:  this evening until early Saturday morning.

Remarks:  Precipitation will begin as snow this morning then transition to ice pellets this afternoon and to freezing rain and ice pellets this evening.  Freezing rain could change over to rain overnight tonight for some areas but may persist as freezing rain for northern areas of Prince county.  Precipitation ends Saturday morning.

Roads and walkways will likely become icy and slippery. There is risk of injury due to slips and falls.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
