Severe Thunderstorm Watch

Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and large hail. Thunderstorms are beginning to develop in west-central Alberta, and will move east throughout the day. Some of these thunderstorms may become severe this afternoon. Thunderstorms are expected to be moving very fast today, possibly more than 60 km/h. There is also a very slight risk of a tornado. ### Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain. Heat Warning

Daytime high temperatures in the low to mid 30s combined with overnight lows between 15 and 21 degrees Celsius continue. Temperatures will begin to cool this evening as a cold front moves through. ### Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
