One more day of hot and humid conditions is expected for the Red River Valley including Winnipeg, the Interlake and the Whiteshell.  Daytime maximum temperatures in the low thirties will give humidex values at or near 40 this afternoon into early evening.

Relief is expected by Saturday as a cold front tracks through the province tonight.

Along with the heat and humidity, thunderstorms are possible throughout the area today.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
