Accumulating snowfall is expected. 

Locations: Southern Newfoundland and the Avalon Peninsula.

Potential snowfall: 10 to 20 cm, locally higher amounts possible. 

Potential maximum wind gusts: easterly 40 to 60 km/h

Time span: 
- Southern Newfoundland: late Friday afternoon until Saturday morning. 
- Avalon Peninsula: overnight Friday night until Saturday afternoon

Remarks: Meteorologists are monitoring a weather system which has the potential to bring accumulating snowfall over the upcoming Easter weekend on Friday and Saturday.

Snow will begin over southwestern Newfoundland on Friday afternoon and spread eastward across the island through the night, before tapering on Saturday morning or afternoon. Visibility may be reduced, at times, in snow and blowing snow.

Consider modifying any travel plans; if travel is necessary, allow extra time to reach your destination.
