Yellow Warning - Snowfall
Issued: 11:30 PM Oct. 11, 2026 – Environment and Climate Change Canada
Snowfall, with total amounts of 10 to 20 cm is expected.

Heavy snow over southwestern Saskatchewan lasting through Thanksgiving Monday.

Where: Southwestern Saskatchewan including the Cypress Hills, Grasslands National Park, and surrounding communities.

What: 10 to 20 cm of heavy, wet snow falling mainly tonight through early Monday, tapering off Monday afternoon.

Remarks: Another low pressure system has developed in Montana and will spread a band of heavier snow into southwestern Saskatchewan. Latest indications continue to intensify this system, increasing the amount of snow forecast for the warned area.

Snow has already begun to accumulate over the Cypress Hills. For elsewhere in the southwest, the bulk of the snow moves in later this evening, with heavy snow continuing into Monday morning and tapering off later in the day. Final snowfall amounts will be variable due to melting but broadly 10 to 20 cm of heavier, wet snow is anticipated.

When skies clear on Tuesday, the fallen snow will begin to melt away as temperatures rebound for the remainder of the week.
