Rain or freezing rain will be heavy at times this evening. Any freezing rain will change over to rain later this evening. There will be the risk for a few isolated thunderstorms as well. The rain will ease overnight.

If possible, clear storm drains of snow and ice.

Ice accretion or build-up of 2 to 5 mm on some surfaces.

Freezing rain is expected to change over to rain later this afternoon or  this evening as temperatures climb above the freezing mark.

Roads and walkways will likely become icy and slippery. Icy surfaces could be difficult to detect.

Dangerous snow squalls and blizzard conditions Monday into Tuesday.

What:
Blizzard conditions with near zero visibility.
Strong wind gusts of 70 to 90 km/h.
Total local snowfall amounts of 25 to 50 cm.

When:
Monday morning easing to scattered flurries Tuesday afternoon.

Additional information:
A colder air mass in the wake of a departing low pressure system will result in the development of lake effect snow squalls off Lake Huron. Widespread blowing snow and blizzard conditions will be the primary concern as northwesterly wind gusts of 70 to 90 km/h are expected.

Travel may be hazardous and some routes may be impassable. Visibility may be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Road closures are possible. Property or tree damage is possible.

Beginning Monday morning and easing Monday evening.

Strong southwesterly winds are expected to develop Monday morning 
with the passage of a strong cold front. The winds will become northwesterly through the afternoon. The winds will ease through Monday evening. Areas with significant ice build-up from freezing rain will be most vulnerable.
