Special Weather Statement
Issued: 10:07 AM Oct. 27, 2025 – Environment and Climate Change Canada
Significant rainfall to portions of southern Manitoba on Monday.

A band of slow-moving rain developed early Monday morning, stretching northeast across the western Red River Valley and southern Interlake. This area of rain will shift east slightly through the day, then stall out and pivot over the region on Monday night.

While rainfall rates will vary throughout the area, bands of moderate to heavy rain are likely to develop. This, combined with the slow movement of the band as a whole, will result in widespread rainfall over much of southern Manitoba. The highest accumulations are expected over the western Red River Valley and southern Interlake.

For these areas, 30 to 50 mm of rain is likely by Tuesday morning with a chance for localized accumulations of 50 to 60 mm.

For areas east of this band, including Winnipeg, expected rainfall amounts will diminish from 30 to 40 mm over the central Red River Valley down to 10 to 25 mm along the Ontario border.

The rain will taper off early Tuesday.
