Potential for Locally Heavy Rain What: Embedded thunderstorms could enhance local rainfall amounts. Hazards: - Localized flooding - Increased risk of landslides - Sudden reduction of visibility in heavy rain When: Today through tonight. Where: - Areas in the vicinity of Highway 1 from Ashcroft to Three Valley Gap, southern sections of North Thompson, and North Okanagan - including Vernon. Additional information: Heavy rain could develop along a front passing through southern interior BC today. Current weather model guidance is indicating locally high rainfall amounts. However, there remains some uncertainty as to the exact locations of the heavy rain band. In the event where heavy rainfall materializes over sensitive areas such as burn scars, there is a heightened risk of localized flooding and debris flows. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
