Special Weather Statement
Issued: 9:12 AM Apr. 4, 2026 – Environment and Climate Change Canada
A prolonged period of ice pellets, and freezing rain is expected to return on Sunday.

Locations: North-Central New Brunswick.

Potential ice pellet accumulations: 2 to 4 cm or more.

Potential freezing rain duration: 8 to 10 hours.
Potential freezing rain amounts: possibly exceeding 5 mm.

Time span: Sunday morning until Sunday evening.

Remarks: While it is too early to narrow down specific amounts of ice pellets or freezing rain, there is a significant signal that there will be another prolonged period of ice pellets or freezing rain for North-Central New Brunswick. Precipitation is anticipated to begin as snow before transitioning to ice pellets or freezing rain early Sunday morning and persisting into the evening before transitioning into rain.

Even small amounts of freezing rain can make travel difficult. Ice buildup on trees and utility infrastructure may cause damage or outages.

Consider adjusting travel plans to avoid the most adverse conditions.
