Special Weather Statement
Issued: 2:19 PM Dec. 19, 2025 – Environment and Climate Change Canada
Rain and mild temperatures, leading to snowmelt, are expected. Locations: Newfoundland. Time span: today into Saturday. Remarks: Temperatures are forecast to rise to well above seasonable values under the influence of a strengthening southerly flow. These mild temperatures, combined with a period of rainfall, will contribute to snowmelt, increased runoff, and a heightened risk of localized flooding. Clear snow and ice away from storm drains and catch basins to improve drainage and help reduce the pooling of water. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to NLstorm@ec.gc.ca or post reports on X using #NLwx.
